Cannabis, una storia millenaria.

Cannabis, a thousand-year history.

Cannabis, a thousand-year history that takes us back to green agriculture.

When we follow the historical development of cannabis, we realize that it has played an important role in the development of our world. Cannabis has been a key component in societies throughout time. Companies proving that human civilization relied on cannabis for religious activities and pharmaceuticals. Later companies used cannabis to create hemp fiber. Hemp has turned into a food used in industries. The sails and ropes that countries such as Spain and Great Britain, used to send huge fleets of ships where they were made using hemp. The cannabis plant has powered the world for a long time to the point that control of it has fallen into the wrong hands.

One proposed hypothesis suggests that one of Europe's oldest clans, the Yamnaya people, were responsible for spreading cannabis throughout Western Europe. They lived in an area north of the Black Sea, which is currently Ukraine. Their people are known to have extended the distance to the Caspian Sea, into a land we now know as Kazakhstan. Researchers realized that the Yamnaya were responsible for many European hereditary cosmetics. Nonetheless, late archaeological revelations demonstrate that the Yamnaya advanced into Siberia and Mongolia around 5,000 years ago. Mongolia is known to be the origin of cannabis on the planet.

Evidence was found in the form of instruments differing from the ethnic meaning of Yamnaya that extended from the Far East to their ethnic home in Eurasia. The suggestions are astounding when you consider that cannabis use in Europe expanded around or after one of the established European clans advanced into Asia, where cannabis use was a staple of society. The association between cannabis use in Europe and the course of events encompassing the Yamnaya people's movement is too firmly aligned to be a possibility. Another hypothesis even admits the Yamnaya people for specifically breeding cannabis to expand its medical characteristics, as samples of old cannabis found 5,000 years ago show smaller measures of THC than current strains.

In medieval Europe, cannabis may not have been a religious or psychedelic drug like in India, but it was incorporated as a medicine. Cannabis has been used to treat coughs, jaundice and tumors. Oddly enough, medieval physicians and botanists warned against using cannabis too much – trusting that too much of the substance could cause sterility and other unsafe conditions.

Cannabis and its advancement over the last 10,000 years has taken on a substantially larger part in our history than most would ever think. After a hundred years of being in the shadows, cannabis finds itself in a different light. The old signs of shame are endlessly falling as individuals take a look at the underlying foundations of cannabis, marijuana, and hemp and see that it has definitely been a key part of the advancement. Moving forward into an edgy world for new goods, it is only by understanding how cannabis has actually travelled, that we will ever know where it might take us.
