Even in Greece , as is happening all over the globe (see South Korea in recent days), thanks certainly to some relevant legislative steps and to a market that is responding excellently. Regarding the case of Greece, the road seems long especially in the therapeutic sector but one thing is certain: hemp is growing again, considering that it is a country with a historical cannabis culture, later overthrown with prohibitionism.

The definition of the terms and conditions for the cultivation of therapeutic cannabis and its processing dates back to May. Even in the Greek market, cannabis shops are now springing up like mushrooms and three fairs were organized in 2018 alone, two in Athens and one in Thessaloniki.

Athens Cannabis Expo 2018 was the first fair, held last January, which was followed by the Balkannabis Expo , again in Athens in the first days of June. While the last one was held in Thessaloniki , Salonica Cannabis Expo , on the last weekend of September. Greek, European but also international companies and cooperatives participated in all three fairs . Great quality was also demonstrated in the speeches held by professionals recognized in the international cannabis sector. The common conclusion of all these events was the great interest of people in becoming part of the world of cannabis , in wanting to learn about the plant, its uses and the willingness to invest in the sector.

In Greece the crisis is still ongoing, but the cannabis sector could become a great means towards a more stable and eco-sustainable development, as we hope also in Italy.
