From 16 to 18 February 2018, it returns to PalaCavicchi Rome Canapa Mundi , the International Hemp Fair. After the exciting success of previous years, the next edition presents important innovations: starting from the new pavilion, passing through the new look of the site, up to the cooking shows which aim to present hemp-based haute cuisine, and the hemp week, which is a “canaposo” tour of the Roman shops and clubs that use hemp in many ways.
Roma Canapa Mundi: the 2018 edition
And there are many other new features, such as the official Saturday evening which moves to the new location of the historic Black Out with an exceptional DJ set, a fashion show of hemp clothes, partnerships with a hotel to welcome visitors from all over Italy as well as foreigners, and with a cannabis tourism travel agency that has specifically created an organized trip full of surprises.
Given the large participation of families, the service in the children's area has been strengthened and the breastfeeding room dedicated to new mothers and their little ones will be inaugurated.
Canapa Mundi: International Hemp Fair
Naturally, Canapa Mundi is first and foremost the Hemp Fair which, thanks to last year's numbers, obtained recognition as an International Fair from the Lazio Region. “The growth is evident” explain the organizers, “and to accommodate the numerous requests from new Italian and foreign companies we had to expand the exhibition area with a new 1500 m2 pavilion for a total of 9000 m2”.
Industrial hemp and "grow-head-seeds"
The two macro areas are confirmed, that of "industrial hemp" dedicated to companies that work and transform hemp and that of the "grow-head-seeds" area for companies that promote high technology for cultivation, the most resistant genetics and the most innovative equipment for recreational use.
Like every year, Canapa Mundi guarantees controlled prices for the hemp area with the aim of supporting small businesses that process hemp and spreading the supply chain.
Much more than a fair: parades, games and shows
But Canapa Mundi is much more than a fair; it is a path that unites the dynamic world of young people with that of the elderly who pass on tradition and historical memory to us, through the many new proposals from exhibitors and associations: workshops, fashion shows, music, stories, games, shows.
Hemp for clothes, oils and cosmetics
This year the European Institute of Design will also be present and will offer a preview of hemp clothes commissioned by the Spello Film Festival, as well as the Caserta Fashion Institute with a parade of 12 models of modern hemp clothes obtained from old kit received from grandmothers.
Versatile and resistant, hemp has become a rapidly growing ingredient in Italian pride foods such as oil, bread, pasta; it is reused as a natural textile fibre, as a curative and preventive medicine for many pathologies and constitutes an essential element in anti-seismic and insulating green building, and in cosmetics.
Scientific information
Canapa Mundi is an opportunity to learn about and relaunch a plant that is part of our history. An event that through many tools demonstrates the groundlessness of prejudices and prohibitionism, an opportunity for revenge and opportunity for a sector that embraces different areas, all with exceptional potential, first and foremost economic. Like the latest innovation on the market, the so-called "cannabis light" which will be present in this fourth edition.
Like every year, Canapa Mundi also guarantees important moments of scientific information on the potential of this wonderful plant and updates on the legislative processes related to hemp, with the second edition of the International Conference on Hemp.
Catering and gastronomic area
There will be no shortage of catering and gastronomic areas, with traditional stands, but also 100% gluten free, vegan and naturally hemp-based.
“It is impossible for visitors and exhibitors in the sector to miss this fair”, the organizers underline. “We invite everyone to participate, because Canapa Mundi represents an opportunity for knowledge and entertainment, but also a contribution to the cultural transformation of our society and to the development of an increasingly important area of our economy”.
